Studies have shown that bone cancer patients benefit with self-hypnosis or hypnotherapy. Even the procedures for the cancer cells to stop proliferating, are painful, nauseating, and draining. Generally, cancer patients have found that undergoing self-hypnosis allows them to be in a trance-like state where all physical pain is alleviated by mere relaxation of the mind. They do this mainly by converting all the negative sensations they feel to positive thoughts and visualizations. They overcome not only the feeling of excruciating pain, but also allow themselves to be empowered by these positive thoughts. It enables them to overcome not only the pain itself, but also condition themselves to thoughts that are therapeutic in nature.

There are primarily two ways in treating bone metastasis: the Systemic Therapy - the therapy that is aimed at tumor cells which have scattered all over the body, this includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy and hormone therapy, and Local Therapy - this therapy is aimed to kill tumor cells in a particular portion of the human body, it includes surgery and radiation therapy or radiotherapy.

According to the ACS, there will only be a little over two thousand cases of bone cancer in the United States for 2007. Of that number, only a thousand will actually die from the disease. Bone cancer can begin in the bone, but most often the cancer started in another organ and spread.

The causes of sarcoma are not known but experts believed that it may have been caused by an erratic DNA causing immediate cell division and death which forms mutated cells or cancer cells. These cancer cells would then continue to multiply until they form tumors.

The tumor weakens the bone and thus a break can occur, sometimes from even something simple like standing. In most cases, bone fractures occur more in the lower rather than the upper body of the patient.
